Welcoming Aviva Colleagues to Disaster Care North

Aviva Visit Disaster Care North

Members of the Aviva team recently visited Disaster Care North, spending time at the branch to gain a closer understanding of its operations, specialist capabilities and approach to disaster recovery.

Disaster Care North is one of the larger branches within the Disaster Care network. The team has extensive experience across both buildings and contents restoration, including the management of complex and high-net-worth claims.

The visit gave Aviva colleagues the opportunity to tour the facilities, meet the team and see first-hand how claims are managed at branch level. It also provided valuable time to discuss operational processes, costs and the ways in which Aviva and Disaster Care can continue to work effectively together.

Spotlight On: Disaster Care North

Disaster Care North has significant experience in the management, storage and restoration of damaged contents, supported by extensive facilities and specialist equipment.

The team regularly handles unusual and complex losses. This has ranged from storing hundreds of bottles of wine under temperature-controlled conditions to recovering and protecting suits of armour and historic weapons from stately homes.

The branch has also invested in specialist restoration technology, including an Esporta system capable of cleaning and sanitising a wide range of items such as clothing, bags, footwear and toys. This enables the team to restore items that might otherwise require replacement, helping to reduce both claim costs and unnecessary waste.

Alongside its contents restoration capabilities, Disaster Care North maintains a substantial stock of drying and dehumidification equipment, specialist speed-drying systems and remote monitoring technology. The team also brings extensive experience in leak detection, strip-out works and wider property restoration.

Strengthening Collaboration

Site visits like this provide an opportunity to go beyond processes and reporting by seeing how claims are managed in practice.

Bringing Aviva and Disaster Care colleagues together helps build a stronger understanding of the people, resources and specialist knowledge available within the network. It also creates valuable opportunities to discuss operational challenges, share knowledge and identify where different capabilities can best support individual claims.

This understanding is particularly important when dealing with complex losses, where access to the right expertise and resources can make a significant difference to how effectively a claim is managed.

Aviva’s visit to Disaster Care North provided a valuable opportunity to showcase the branch’s capabilities first-hand while continuing to strengthen the collaborative partnership between Aviva and Disaster Care.
