Disaster Care is strengthening its technical training capabilities, with three team members attending the IICRC Train-the-Trainer programme in Las Vegas. The investment marks an important step in developing the Disaster Care Academy and expanding access to internationally recognised qualifications through the National Flood School.

Disaster Care recently welcomed representatives from Direct Line Group to the National Flood School for a practical training day exploring flood restoration, structural drying and property resilience. Led by Technical Director Nick Lea and the wider team, the session combined technical insights with hands-on demonstrations to strengthen understanding of water damage mitigation and restoration processes.

Disaster Care is investing in technical excellence through the adoption of the IICRC certification pathway, strengthening technician development, professional standards and practical training across our nationwide restoration network.

Disaster Care and the National Flood School now have permanent displays within Aviva’s Tech Lounge at its Perth headquarters. Showcasing specialist restoration equipment, flood resilience solutions and training expertise, the displays provide Aviva colleagues with practical insight into the capabilities supporting effective flood response and recovery.
