DisasterCare AGM 2025: Investing in People, Innovation & Sustainability

DisasterCare held its 2025 Annual General Meeting last week, bringing colleagues together from across the network to reflect on progress and share plans for the future. CEO Chris Netherton outlined an ambitious outlook for the remainder of 2025 and into 2026, focused on three key areas: people, innovation, and sustainability.

Investing in People

At the heart of Disaster Care are the people who deliver our services every day. To strengthen our culture of technical excellence, the company is launching the new Disaster Care Academy later this year. Led by the incoming Technical Director, the Academy will provide structured training across site techniques, estimating, and digital tools.
“The Academy is about giving our colleagues the skills, confidence, and support they need to deliver outstanding service for our clients and communities,” said Chris Netherton.

Driving Innovation

Disaster Care is making significant investment in its systems to create a more connected, efficient, and transparent operating environment. These modernisations will help reduce administration, improve data sharing, and increase responsiveness for clients and insurer partners.
Chris commented: “By investing in technology and innovation, we’re building the foundations for a more resilient and agile business — one that can meet the needs of our partners today and tomorrow.”

Strengthening Sustainability and ESG

Alongside its investment in people and systems, Disaster Care is deepening its commitment to sustainability. Working with Mackman Group, a certified B Corp consultancy, the company is developing clearer frameworks to measure and communicate its environmental and social impact.
“Our responsibility extends beyond projects,” said Chris. “Every time we respond to disaster, we want to protect the environment, support communities, and demonstrate the positive role our industry can play.”

Looking Ahead

Chris closed the AGM with a message of confidence and ambition:

“We are building something more connected, more innovative, and more future-ready — while staying true to the values that define Disaster Care. Together, we will continue to deliver resilience restored for the communities we serve.”

With a strong pipeline of initiatives underway, Disaster Care is poised for one of the most significant growth phases in its history.
