National Flood School Achieves IICRC Applied Structural Drying Certification
Disaster Care is proud to celebrate a significant milestone for our sister organisation, the National Flood School, which has achieved IICRC Applied Structural Drying (ASD) certification for its purpose-built flood house training facility.
This achievement makes the National Flood School the first facility in the UK able to deliver hands-on Applied Structural Drying training, strengthening the UK restoration sector’s access to specialist education and practical learning.
The certification follows a two-year development programme, during which the flood house training environment was further enhanced to meet the rigorous IICRC requirements. This included structural improvements such as the addition of a dedicated bedroom area to ensure the facility accurately reflects real-world residential drying scenarios.
For Disaster Care, the National Flood School represents a vital part of our commitment to advancing technical standards across the industry. The facility provides specialist training not only for our Disaster Care network partners, but also for professionals across the wider disaster recovery ecosystem, including drying technicians, claims handlers, insurers, surveyors, and loss adjusters.
By combining practical training environments with internationally recognised certification, the National Flood School helps ensure restoration professionals are equipped with the knowledge, techniques, and confidence needed to deliver right-first-time disaster recovery outcomes.
This milestone reinforces Disaster Care’s position as a community that shares expertise, strengthens professional capability, and works collaboratively to support resilient recovery across the UK.
Through initiatives such as the National Flood School, Disaster Care continues to demonstrate its commitment to care, expertise, and innovation in disaster recovery while helping restore resilience for customers, insurers, and communities alike.
